Duk, the Duke of Ghoose, was born into the secretive and reclusive society of the red dragonborn. His arrival in the world was shrouded in rumors and whispers, as his parents' fate remained a mystery. Some whispered that his parents had fallen victim to a sinister wizard with ulterior motives, while others speculated that he was the result of a passionate love affair between a mortal and a demi-god or goddess. Final showdown with Seraphina, Xandros and the Red Wizards!
Val turns Xandros away from combat!
Taiyo, Anaxis and the rest defeat all of the wizards. While Seraphina transforms into a towering wicked demon!
"Feeble mortals," you think you can stand against me, the herald of darkness? My power is beyond your feeble comprehension, and soon, you shall all be crushed beneath its weight!"
Finally, after a fierce combat, Seraphina the Redy Lady is defeated!
"You fools... you think you've won... but you know nothing of the darkness that I have harnessed. Those commoners... mere pawns, sacrifices to fuel my ascent. I sought to bind the very essence of death to my will, to channel the power of necrotic energies that flow from beyond. It was all part of a grand design, a dark pact I made with a being far beyond your comprehension. The depths of the Shadowfell are the gateway to an entity, a malevolent force that hungers for dominion over life and death. I was to be its harbinger, its herald, and together we would spread this darkness across the realms, ushering in an age of eternal suffering. You may have stopped me, but you can't undo the ties that have been woven. The dark entity stirs, and the world will tremble in its wake."

As the party descends into the heart of Seraphina's sinister lair, the air grows thick with a pungent, earthy scent, tinged with the faint aroma of death. The echoing sounds of their footsteps resonate against the roughly-hewn stone walls, creating an eerie symphony of echoes. The passage narrows as they progress, the walls and ceiling pressing closer with an oppressive weight. Bones, both humanoid and animal, litter the ground at their feet, a grim reminder of the sacrifices made to sustain Seraphina's malevolent ambitions. Occasional skittering and rustling noises hint at the presence of unseen inhabitants, while the eyes of countless rodents gleam momentarily in the shadows before disappearing into the darkness. The cold and humid air carries with it an almost tangible sense of foreboding, as if the very walls themselves are whispering secrets of the darkness that reside within. With each step, there is a weight of desperation and suffering that has scarred this place. The passage ahead beckons, leading them further into the heart of Seraphina's malevolent domain, where dark secrets and danger await..
Truce with the rat-folk! A new ally is gained
Puzzle in the Column Chamber - Attacked by Spectres!
As you step into Seraphina's throne room, a scene of unspeakable horror unfolds before your eyes. The walls are adorned with grisly trophies – human skins stretched taut and nailed in place, a gruesome display of her sadistic conquests. Bones and bloodstains mar the floor, creating a macabre mosaic of violence that paints the room in shades of crimson. At the back of the room, a stone dais supports Seraphina's ominous throne, carved from the very rock of the cavern. Chained to the walls are several unfortunate captives, their faces etched with fear and pain. A human, a halfling, a svirfneblin, and a deep gnome are among them, their bodies bearing the marks of cruel torment. Several others appear to have already met their demise. The air is heavy with the stench of sweat and suffering, permeated by the acrid scent of fear. The relentless chanting of the four red wizards creates a maddening cacophony that reverberates through the chamber, their words an incomprehensible symphony of dark magic. The sound is disorienting, making it difficult to focus on anything else. Tortured cries and pained moans mix with the chanting, a horrifying chorus that seems to echo in your very soul. As you stand on the threshold of this nightmarish scene, you are confronted with the depths of Seraphina's evil. The captives' desperate eyes plead for salvation, the evidence of their agony a stark reminder of her evil, and that it must be stopped.
The wizards' chants intensify, shrouding the room in an oppressive aura of dark energy. Now is the time to steel your resolve, for the fate of these prisoners and yours' hangs in the balance!

In the heart of the cavern, Taiyo, the fearless Monk, stands toe to toe with the hulking Satyr, Rivenhoof, pummeling it repeatedly to little avail. Her companions are not faring well in the battle behind her, as the Paladin and Bard have both fallen, one to a terrible monstrosity and the other to a terrible lacking of wisdom. Respectively.
But suddenly, Anaxis the Druid and Andakos the Fighter arrive on the scene, along with newcomers Fenn, a halfling Rogue, and Rudrik, a dwarf Ranger. Together, they descend into the eerie glow of the cavern, with a mixture of anticipation and caution.
Their initial focus falls upon the menacing Roper, its rocky maw opening to reveal rows of jagged teeth, and its many grasping tentacles dartingout all about it, eager for prey. The creature lunges, striking the half-elf paladin, Val, with a brutal blow that sends him crashing to the ground, unconscious. The elf druid's face contorts into grim determination as he transforms into a majestic lion, leaping across the river and to the forefront of the fray. Claws and teeth flash, while flashes of pscionic power rain down from above, directed by the halfling Rogue, and expertly-guided arrows thunk into the monstrosity, courtesy of the dwarf Ranger. After a ferocious struggle, the Roper's grip on its fallen prey weakens, finally releasing its stranglehold on the fading paladin.
Then a familiar female voice booms out in the cavern, from the glowing crystal orb -
"Pathetic intruders, you dare disrupt our sacred rites? You have stepped into the realm of powers beyond your comprehension. Your futile attempts to challenge me will only hasten your doom. Leave now, and perhaps I will spare your lives. Continue on this path, and you shall become mere sacrifices to my ascent."
Suddenly, Rivenhoof's body shudders and convulses, an unholy transformation takes hold. His form contorts in agony, muscles bulging and straining against his skin. Black horns, twisted and sharp, erupt from his skull and arms, casting eerie shadows in the dim light. Veins pulse and throb beneath his brightly-reddened flesh, like fiery rivers about to burst forth. The very air around him seems to crackle with dark energy as he grows taller and more imposing, his eyes blazing with malevolent power. The transformation completes with a bone-chilling roar that echoes through the cavern, leaving behind a hulking, demonic abomination – a creature forged from the depths of the abyss itself!
Rivenhoof, now empowered by the dark powers of the Abyss, releases a sinister horde of six demonic Dretches, who emerge with unsettling squelches and malevolent intent. They rush out in search of prey!
Meanwhile, Taiyo engages the cursed abomination, her strikes and blows landing with fierce precision. Before long the druid joins the battle, easily bounding the distance up the cliff in lion form. The clash is intense, each combatant pushing their limits. In a surprising turn, Anaxis gains the upper 'hand', shifting form once again to a writhing octopus! Soon after, the abomination's malevolent laughter gives way to a grotesque silence as it succumbs to the druid's relentless assault and dies, strangled to death, still hanging from the cliff.
The evil voice of Seraphina the Red returns -
"Oh, how amusing it is to see you scurry like insects before the might of the abyss. Do you truly believe you can stand against the forces I command? Your courage will crumble, your hope will wane, and in the end, your lives will be mine to claim!"
The Dretches prove to be only a minor hurdle as the party combines their efforts to overcome the fiends. And as Rivenhoof is defeated, the last of the Dretches dissolve into dark, green mist, and the cavern falls into a tense stillness. With the immediate threats neutralized, Taiyo's urgency surges, and she charges forward down the corridor, determined to confront Seraphina.
Meanwhile, the elf druid, Anaxis, cuts open the fallen Roper, uncovering a hidden treasure trove concealed within its stony gizard. The gleam of platinum coins catches his eye, and with a quick sleight of hand, he quietly pockets a large portion, witnessed only by the halfling, Fenn. His attention shifts to the array of magical items and the coveted religious artifact, the bounty of Val the Paladin's courageous stand versus the Roper.
As the echoes of battle fade, the cavern stands as a testament to the valor and unity of the party. The air hangs heavy with the scent of victory, tempered by the unexplored mysteries that lie ahead and the looming confrontation with Seraphina..

The descent into the underground caverns is an adventure unto itself. As the party navigates through winding tunnels, the air grows cooler and damp, carrying with it the earthy scent of hidden mysteries. The walls of rough stone bear the marks of ancient geological processes, their texture telling tales of time's passage.
Dimly lit torches line the passages, casting dancing shadows that seem to whisper secrets of the depths. The distant echoes of dripping water create an eerie symphony, harmonizing with the adventurers' footsteps. The ground beneath their boots is uneven, hinting at the cavern's untamed nature.
After traversing through several interconnected chambers, the party eventually arrives at a narrow passage. As they venture forward, their eyes are met with a mesmerizing sight: an otherworldly glow that bathes the passage in a spectrum of vibrant colors. The light seems to emanate from the very walls, casting an ethereal aura upon the stone.
The hues shift and blend, creating an ever-changing display that dances along the walls and ceiling. It's as if the very essence of magic courses through the rock, painting the passage with an enchantment that defies the natural world.
The party stands at the precipice of something extraordinary, a threshold leading deeper into the heart of the underground realm. The strange, colorful glowing light beckons them forward, promising untold wonders and challenges as they continue their journey into the unknown.
As the party steps into the great underground passage, a rush of cool, damp air envelops them, carrying with it the faint scent of moisture and earth. The passage widens before them, revealing a breathtaking sight. A deep chasm yawns beneath, where a swift river races through its stony bed, its tumultuous waters churning and crashing in a symphony of nature's power.
A stone ledge hugs the edge of the chasm, and the party cautiously makes their way down to a lower area. Here, the river's roar is more distant, replaced by the echo of their own footfalls against the cold stone floor. The air is thick with an ancient stillness, punctuated by the faint glisten of water droplets clinging to the walls.
As they progress, the terrain gradually rises again, leading them to a raised platform. Atop this platform, a scene of eerie significance unfolds. Chanting figures clad in crimson robes stand in a circle, their voices carrying a cadence of arcane resonance. Their intent is palpable, an undercurrent of dark purpose weaving through the air.
The party's presence goes unnoticed for a moment as they observe the red wizards, engrossed in their ritual. The raised platform provides a vantage point, offering a commanding view of the cavern and the churning river below. With every step, the party edges closer to the heart of this underground realm, where mysteries and dangers intertwine in an intricate dance.
Battle ensues with several Rat-folk as well as a Roper, hidden in the center of the giant chamber resembling precisely just another stagmite! Rivenhoof the Satyr is challenged by Taiyo, the Monk.

Part two of the battle versus Seraphina the Red Lady and her companions - Boros is resurrected by the Red Lady's dark magic, but quickly turned away by one of the rescued captives, Val the Half-elf Paladin. Taiyo battles Seraphina hand-to-hand atop the small rocky outrise, and she eventually retreats into the cave, followed by her bodyguard Xandros as well as Rivenhoof, the mysterious, hulking satyr.
Encounter in the woods with ratfolk hunting an owl-bear, rat-folk defeated. Then return to Waterdeep. The gratitude of Barok Clanghammer! He awards a magical staff to Taiyo.

The battle with the red wizards and rat-folk in the Cursed Forest. Introduction of Seraphina the Red Lady, Xandros, her half-demon bodyguard, Boros the minotaur, and Rivenhoof the Satyr. Boros is defeated.
I live in the Midwest United States and have been an avid gamer from a very early age. Board games led to card games led to adventure games and eventually to video games.. One day I discovered role-playing games (The Legend of Zelda, Basic Edition Dungeons & Dragons, Final Fantasy and more) and the rest is, as we say, history.
Fast-forward 30+ years, now I enjoy collecting, painting, crafting and 3-d printing miniatures and terrain for use with (mostly) fantasy roleplaying games. I have thousands of miniatures, from tiny to gargantuan, and a modest-sized closet full of 3d terrain. I love creating immersive and strategic 3-d tabletop experiences for my players, whether in-person or online.
